As financial and securities enforcement efforts heat up in Washington and the Eastern District of Virginia, hear from those leading the initiatives and from experts on how to prevent and effectively handle financial securities and fraud investigations.
The Hon. Neil MacBride, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, recently announced his Office’s formation of the Virginia Financial and Securities Fraud Task Force based in the EDVA, which is home to the legendary “Rocket Docket” where cases have traditionally gone from complaint to trial in 6-9 months. This Task Force represents an unprecedented partnership between criminal investigators and civil regulators. Mr. MacBride and SIGTARP Neil Barofsky will describe their Offices’ new initiatives in investigating and prosecuting fraud in connection with TARP funds and other financial and securities fraud. The Distinguished Speakers will share their expertise on what companies and their executives can do to protect themselves before and after an investigation commences.
