There is no fee to attend.
Sandwiches and other refreshments will be provided at the pre-event reception.
Two hours of California MCLE credits will be provided
(Parking is at the Hilgard/Westholme campus entrance). Appreciation for their cooperation is given to Guests of Honor Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Alex Kozinski; former Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit Deanell Reece Tacha, now Dean of the Pepperdine University School of Law; and Norman L. Epstein, Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeal (Second District, Division 4). Opening remarks will be made by Dean Rachel Moran of the UCLA School of Law. We also thank UCLA School of Law, Pepperdine School of Law, and the Beverly Hills Bar Association for their assistance with this program.
Judges, in upholding the rule of law, critically affect every area of American life including the economy, property rights, personal liberty, and democratic values. These Distinguished Speakers will analyze issues which are not only key for lawyers, but also important for business leaders and other citizens. These include key issues facing business; how companies and other groups can be effectively represented in court; and what budgets are needed for efficient operation of the courts to enhance timeliness and reduce the cost of litigation for the parties.
A unique series of parallel events with Chief Justices are being held in major cities nationwide. The transcript of this event will be made available electronically. The Directors Roundtable Institute is a not-for-profit which organizes worldwide programming for Directors and their advisors.
